I am honoured to have been the Member of Parliament for my home constituency of Angus.
I campaigned strongly to keep the United Kingdom together in September 2014 and believe most people in Angus want to move on from the continual constitutional debate. It is time to concentrate on the issues that impact people’s daily lives.
That is why my priority was to standing up for local people. Whether it is pushing the Scottish Government to accelerate the roll out of rural broadband, working with the UK Government to grow our local economy through the Tay Cities Deal, drawing a line in the sand when it comes to further centralisation of our local healthcare provision, holding the banks to account for reneging in their responsibility to serve their rural customers or pushing for a sufficient workforce for our local soft fruit producers – I will always be a champion for, what I believe to be, the best constituency in the whole of the United Kingdom.
Before being elected, I worked at DC Thomson in Dundee. I was born and brought up on the family farm outside Brechin and educated at Brechin High and Aberdeen University.
As MP for Angus I held regular surgeries across the constituency and have been incredibly lucky to meet many of you to hear your concerns whether it be an individual case, or supporting our fantastic local businesses and charities. I continue to champion many local campaigns and I am always available to all my constituents, no matter who they voted for.
Here on my website, you can find out more about what I have worked on in Angus – please feel free to contact me if you have something you would like to raise with me.
I look forward to hearing from you!
With Kind Regards,
